In the US, you have a woman who was fused to a toilet seat after sitting there for 2 years. In Japan you have this woman.

Legalizing same sex marriages- and not simply civil unions- is something I feel strongly about. I've probably watched Ellen for a grand total of ten minutes , but in this clip I think she does an absolutely spectacular job of discussing it with John McCain. I'm pretty sure middle America loves her, so if this can get more people to empathize with her and thus support the right to marriage between any combination of genders, then I say alright!
Thats right, everyone can unhold their breath! Chloe supports Ellen and will continue to let it air!
I wonder if there will ever be an openly atheist US president? or even non-Christian. hmm... which one seems more likely.

I went and saw my friends band The Paper Cranes play last night. I missed them last time they were in Toronto (2 years ago) for CMW. I was really blown away, they were amazing live. A lot of fun.
I shouldn't have had that last beer. I shouldn't have listened to the saddest music possible during the hour long walk home. I shouldn't have begun whacking the rim of the pasta sauce bottle on the edge of the counter in an attempt to get the lid off. to use as a bagel topping. at 3 in the morning. to the delight of my roommates I'm sure. And most of all, I shouldn't have sent that drunk email.
oh! unrelated- the other day I saw what I presume to be 905ers take a cab to their car. ^TN^
aside- E, the regular ^TN^ carets dont work with blogger- it thinks it is formatting
I was trying to figure out what we might have in common. Or at least, what we might be able to talk about without getting in a fight. I was drawing a blank; then I noticed his belt buckle! It may not be my taste (to put it gently), but I do love my belt buckle collection.

-belt buckles

Yay! now I can start posting wide pictures without them fucking up the format. Time for some ones I've been saving!
Also- whats with this horse theme of mine? actually I've always sort of hated horses, but they are really the innocent victims of my deep mistrust/uncomfortable feelings toward horse girls. The pre/peri-pubesent girls who ride (sorry S) and their horses are these symbolic and literal sexual objects, big, hard throbbing muscles upon which they straddle, squeeze their thighs to hold on. And paradoxically, other than S, I associate it with this prissiness. Subversively sexual prissiness.
Like, who is that girl in the picture going to grow up to be? I'll bet she'll like Daddy sex talk and big fucking dildos (in my mind, all horse girls like big dildos )
Another reason to be embarrassed for North Americans
Middle aged women in lowish powered jobs they don't like (or maybe it is their life they don't like)
Thats the phenomenon- These women who are bitter. From my perspective, particularly bitter toward younger folk. Defensive. They assert what little power their job affords them in a fucking bitchy way. Especially if you work with them.
She loves to remind you that you are doing something the wrong way. You aren't following procedure.
She adopts this authoritative structure as her own, as if she ever had an say in it.
She's the reason I never got to take home the mis-prepared blizzards. Instead they got thrown out.
She lives for procedure- practicality is not the way we do things- it gives power to you, undermines her importance.
She wont turn down the library air conditioner. We don't know what temperature is needed-we don't understand the complicated process of library temperature management.
Ok yeah- that is happening now. She even managed to talk about controlling the humidity for the preservation of books. (not to mention that we are in a separate, bookless room).
Then- You shouldn't even be here anyways with that cup of coffee.
My buddy had to throw it out.
Say what?
And they are always women. Not always middle aged.
I always feel better than them anyway, cause they are fucking curmudgeons! hah, what a word
